| Buckeye Cablesystem already doing Buckeye Cablesystem is already doing this. I got a letter from them saying one of my roommates downloaded a movie via bit and that it was my first and last warning. any more issues they'd terminate my account which nobody knows for how long.
If mom and pop ISPs are doing it already I can see others doing it as well. |

1 edit | reply to hottboiinnc I think it is easier for mom and pop ISPs to send out letters. They do tend to have the ability to pay more attention. The letter comes (or email probably) from the RIAA, mom and pop check the internet usage and verifies you are a big data user, and sends you a letter. It benefits mom and pop because they tend to have less bandwidth to spare.
Bigger ISPs have a department to handle these things. They have rules, red tape, policies, and corporate crap to follow. Employees that do not care, and really just want to work there day and go home. Your bandwidth usage on a large ISP means little to the employee handling the crap from the RIAA everyday. |

 | Buckeye is by far a small ISP. you must not know anything about them: www.buckeyecablesystem.com The company has Fiber to Level3, Cogent, Qwest and many others. They also own several media outlets. |
