Re: DFW area, Can you access this site? I'll check my public IP when I get home. In the meantime, I've asked the IT guy at Deltan.com to open one address in that range to ping, as they are all closed now. That way I can trace it here at work, and then if it still doesn't work at home, hopefully I'll be able to tell where the breakdown is in the route.
Edit: He has opened 64.190.250.114 to ping. I can hit it just fine from work right now. |

Columbia, MD | About a month ago I started having problems accessing a site hosted in Houston. Tracert would get as far as DFW before dieing. I also have FIOS. Crazy thing is that I could use anonymizer sites sites to access from remote locations, like Hong Kong and London. After a week of no access to this site, I rebooted my FIOS router several times until I got a new IP address, then I was able access with no problem.
I found that the IP address I was previously assigned was on some QWEST router blacklists because, at some time in the past, it was held by a spam attack site.
So, what I suggest is trying rebooting your router until you get a new IP. Of course, write down the IP you start with to know it changed. Sometimes, to get a new IP, you need to change something for your DHCP/PPPoE request, such as MAC address of your router (clone) or (in my case) the PPPoE Login name and password. |
