Interesting...

Notice how the Comcast reps stop posting as soon as discussion of their 250GB cap and other bandwidth policies starts?

That's what PR is all about. When you can't fix the problem or don't want to discuss the issues, send in some PR people.

It could be worse. ProLog has a 50GB cap. Ouch.

ProLog is cable internet that runs over a small operator called Service Electric Cablevision. Service Electric may have a lot more HD channels than Comcast, but Comcast's internet is much better.

I wish I could take the best aspects of each provider out there and make a super company that is a one stop shop for all. Problem today is that every provider has a flaw of some kind. Time to join together and make some kind of a union!

That's apples to oranges. Both are bad. ProLog's is just a bit worse but it doesn't belittle how bad it is that Comcast has a cap.

Only way I could see getting that would be a co-op neighborhood ISP. That way all the money stays with the neighborhood and upgrades the infrastructure as needed.

Just don't think their is enough educated people in my neighborhood to pull something like that off.

Always happy to post. Many people hit the nail on the head. When you compare to similar caps around the world or even ones being tested by other ISPs you will find 250 is way outside the norm, even with services such as NetFlix, Blockbuster, etc. We will continue to review to determine the approach that works best and through the blog we will discuss items such as this. That is why it is good that we now have it.
