Try bringing the issue up with one of your execs instead of insulting and laughing in the face of one of your current customers so that maybe they would actually stay instead of leave.
In the end that could actually mean you might be out of a job (good old RIF letter) if it is determine post surfing and response is a luxury not a necessity because PR is still bad and people are still switching when the option becomes available. | |

Unfortunately I do not know the issues he/she has or if their are any issues at all.
Maybe the customer is tech savvy and wants the newest technology offerings. I really dont know. So I cannot really help or convince that customer to stay.
When I am on these forums I am not representing Comcast. They have a team for this. I am here to give knowledge and help with any problems people want help with. I am using my free time to do this and ask for nothing in return.
So when a citizen as myself wants to speak their mind without being bashed because he/she is linked to Comcast in some way. | |

In the end they still may need to upgrade equipment to improve the bandwidth over the existing fiber or upgrade the bottle neck equipment (switching gear, routers, etc..).
If they take Comcast's approach of spending only the bare minimum to meet capacity demands of the now, instead of thinking to the future they may end up putting caps in place too or if they just decide they want to gauge the customer for more money to improve dividends to their stock holders. With Fios my guess is the second will actually occur at some point.
If Comcast's claims of having the largest fiber network are true they should try improving their bottle necks and a start might be to decrease the number of house holds to each node (so long as the node is actually on the fiber loop) but than again just doing FTTH would secure them more into the future.
If there bottle neck is egress well than they may have the largest fiber network but they don't have a very good capacity network. Which makes me think one of several scenarios is happening inside Comcast, the clueless bean counters are making network engineering decisions, the network engineers are morons, the network engineers are too timid to bring forth the real bottle necks because of cost to upgrade or they don't have good network monitoring so the engineers can't see where the real bottle necks are.
I am guessing all of them play a portion of the roll here but that is just MHO. | |
