| How many of you could remeber the first mmo you played? In my memory Fairyland online was my first fun mmo game... It was VERY VERY popular 8 years ago and it still is. It was the most epic mmorpg I played in my childhood. And its still my favorite now after many more years of mmorpg playing.
What is your favor mmo game in your childhood and post up the link? Mine: http://fairyland.lagernet.com/

I do remember UO though. I started playing it about 2 months after it was released. -- My tummy feels funny...

1 edit | Everquest, on the Rodcet Nife server. I still remember the awe I felt when I first logged in. I have never played an MMO since then that has given me that feeling the first time I play. Everything was a "first time". Of course, almost 4 years later I left the game disgusted...but that's another story. -- We will always be much more human than we wish to be.

I think it was before UO. I played UO for a couple years. Still have great memories from that game. Althought it sucked when servers went down every night for maintenence.

I remember my first day there. It was in the early days of Everquest, and running around trying everything. The first zone seemed vast and endless and everything was just incredible. I remember talking to someone who told me that there were many more zones that were even bigger. I was totally stunned lol.

Before that game I hated the idea of MMO games that you pay monthly for. They had a free open beta and it was just like a free sample of crack.

i dont regret anything in my life. bad experiences only teach me...eventually, but i do wish i had spent a LOT less time in L2 than almost 2 years. it became a job. i had no concept of a FUN MMO so i stuck with it...as a Warlord...and wasted 2 years of my life...
but now i know better. i picked up wow eventually pre-BC, played for probably 1.5 years until i stopped having fun in BC and then quit. now i dont play any MMOs b/c i know my MMO personality...it's not good for real life.

Oh come on now. You had to have fun sometime during the 2 years you played. Ever go red? Go on a PK'n spree with an alt? Castle siege? Wars?
I played on Devianne server because of a better ping, though Bartz was more popular. The first clan I was in was Lotus and we first went after the farmers, forgot the name of the clan now, when they started to interfere with new people trying to level.
Anyway, I keep up with some folks that feel the same way you do but occasionally visit Lineage II for a variety of reasons.
I may pick it back up, but it will only be during the winter months since I am indoors anyway hibernating. -- If you are having half as much fun as I am, then I must be having twice the fun than you are. Do The Math!

| Re: How many of you could remeber the first mmo you played? i had fun on gank runs, pk spreeds, and castle sieges. my clan was probably the most hated clan on Kain and thats the way we liked it. the game itself has so many inherent flaws that it's a chore to even play. i quit at lvl 70 b/c it took literally an hour of mindless grinding to get a half percent of XP in the most ideal grps with outside buffers and sometimes healers. then dieing in castle sieges even with reduced XP loss and 90% rezzes and you're still out 4 hours of farming to gain it back since you die at least a few times each siege... 2 hours of fun with 4+ hours to recover? no thanks -- Somnambulator - t3h 5133pw41k3r

There was also Legends of Kesmai back in 96 or 97. I really played the heck out of this.
Twilight Lands through ICE Online was around then too.
