Re: A few problems with this

How do you pay anonymously? Pretty hard to do these days. It's not like you can just walk up and pay cash. If they ever are successfully prosecuted, all the MAFIAA has to do is follow the money and everyone is busted.

What's to stop ISPs blocking this? They're already in bed with the MAFIAA.

What's to stop scumbags like BayTSP and others from signing up?

On the flipside, if people are willing to pay 5EUR for content downloads, why don't the MAFIAA just offer this and save themselves the trouble?
The "follow the money" routine would not work, or I hope it would not work. In a like fashion, should we assume that if you buy bullets your intent is to murder someone, so we just arrest and prosecute you for attempted murder when you make the purchase? If you buy a bottle of vodka, we should then assume you're going to drink it all and drive drunk?

And do you really think ISPs are going to try blocking VPNs? I really want to see them try that.

I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We've created life in our own image.

If you pay for VPN services and you are caught uploading pirated material, the "follow the money" trail will erase any perceived anonymity you'd have.

Some already block/throttle BitTorrent. What's stopping them from blocking PirateBay's VPN?
