The fight to better the burglary tools? The fight to make stealing video's and music easier? Wow we have really advanced as a civilization, next we need to find a way to keep shop lifters more stealthy while in stores to prevent the authorities from arresting them, how dare someone think stealing should be banned.
This argument will go back and forth for a VERY long time but...

We all know what the deal is but not everyone uses these services to infringe.

No? Just most use it to steal.
So most people who use VPN tunnels do so to steal?

I like the old days when you could just share information without violating laws. Now things are so complex you have to make sure your not breaking a law before you do something.

Who knows even You Tube content may violate the law???

What a head ache for both sides.

the DMCA makes things even more complex in that acts that are legal are also illegal at the same time.

the DMCA is basicly like if you had a speed limiter on your car set to 45, but the speed limit is 65, however there is a law that makes it illegal to disable or remove the limiter, so going 65 is legal but altering the car to do so is illegal.

in DMCA terms this is fair use copies of DRM'd media, the fair use copy is legal, the breaking the encryption to create the copy is technically illegal.

Being not only VPN, but VPN Torrent, probably yes. But I agree a 'fight' is good, not because it helps some people to steal, but because it drives new ideas and new technologies. And it's also one of the last bastion to tell those big corporates that they don't OWN the internet, even though that's what they want.
