Telecom sadly doesnt face the reality of business with customers like retail does, because they know the customer will do what? bail to another company that treats them like shit with an open wallet.

Did you ever try not being a customer of your local water company(especially if you can't dig your own well)? My friend and I were just having that same conversation in the room here. The saying breaks down outside of the free market (e.g. things resembling monopolies, utilities, government services).
