I was called

I received calls from a Dish distributor. They were very rude when I pointed out I was on the DNC list. I went to Dish Network's web site's "contact us" to complain. I'll give them credit for responding to me. But, their attitude was that they have no control over their resellers.

I also filed a complaint with the FTC.

It's not Dish Network, but a re-seller. I was getting daily calls from a heavily-accented call center. They would never give me a number to call back, and got a bit pissy if asked who they really were. My favorite question was to ask where they were calling from. They would usually answer "California" and my first response was "How's the weather in California?". After they answered, I'd ask which part of India California was in. They didn't like that.

I did pressure one or two callers to give me a real number and company name, but that number was never answered.

Even though it's a reseller, I still hold Dish responsible. They can put pressure on the reseller to cut the crap. I actually got ahold of someone at corporate who was concerned enough to give me fake credentials n case they called again so they could track the order.

I never bothered to reply (shame on me, but I'm not a customer and I'm not gonna do their job for free). Oddly, the calls have also stopped. Weird coincidence, that. I don't care if Dish Networks gets nailed to the wall or not, but I'd love to see their slimy reseller put right out of business.
