| Re: Learn More its the first word people see is a "cap" and we can't have caps. regardless what the price is and if its unlimited after a certain time.
Then again this is BBR and Karl wrote the story. Everything on here is bad news unless its about ATT, VZ or Google. You can't touch the companies that pay Karl, Justin and BBR's hosting bill.

On the other hand, Plusnet are paying the kind of money that would make Rocky's eyes bleed on interconnect costs to the ILEC as most other companies in the UK do so need that manner of shaping.

Most ISPs offer teaser rates. I see no problem with this as long as the details are fully disclosed.
As for shaping, I don't see a big deal with this either provided the terms of the shaping are either fully disclosed or available on request. With regards to the unlimited package, even at the highest price of 19.99 British Pounds (about $28.58 according to xe.com on 03/27/2008 at 07:11AM EDT), that seems like quite the bargain. -- Blagojevich / Madoff 2012!

This entirely depends on what you want out of the service to be honest. Personally it doesn't interest me in the slightest though it's a reasonable package for those who might want high volume during off peak times.
If it seems such a bargain to yourself it's worth mentioning there are even cheaper deals in the UK, good side of a competitive retail market, that thing you guys generally don't have, and it's all down to the evils of regulation interfering with the free market

I think it is ironically funny that the result of competition is low level capped service offerings.
BTW the broadband situation in the USA is just fine. Provided you live near civilization, you can get reasonably good service. It is just a small group of people here who want something for nothing that constantly harp on about how "unfair" and "unjust" life is because they can't force companies that own last mile infrastructure to share their investments at a loss with companies that didn't bother to make the same investments. If a company that wants to offer competing service does want to run its own infrastructure, you'll hear complaints from the same people about how "there's too many wires" everywhere.
Me personally? I have my broadband so I don't care. I checked every potential residence I've lived in for broadband availability using the information that most, if not all ISPs in the USA make freely available to potential customers (I've posted these links here many times) and I won't even consider a place that doesn't have any service. -- Blagojevich / Madoff 2012!

Aww it was quite the bargain in your previous post, interesting how it's suddenly become a low level capped service offering when it's suggested it's a result of regulation.
Ah you make me laugh, you really do - thank you!
