No Joke. This is getting incredibly bad in Harvest too.

It's good late at night, and then I consistently see a 60-70ms jump on one of their edges. Something is over-subscribed, badly.

Traceroute to google:

Decent ping but no where near my 6mbps.

My usenet speeds are even worse. I can't seem to do better that 2-3Mbps for the past month or so.

I just switched to Knology from Comcast to save a few bucks, but since they charge extra for things which were free with Comcast, and half the internet speed, I'm neither saving, nor impressed. Been less than a week since the switch, and likely going back to Comcast next month. Speeds have been all over the map. Upgraded to the Edge but I own my own modem (an older Terayon) and they don't have a config file for it on the edge so took it upon themselves to bump me back down. I had a solid 12 mbps and up with the exact same modem on Comcast...

The ping to Atlanta often varies. As you can see, your ping is even better then mine and I'm a hundred miles closer to Atlanta.

None of the games I play have servers in Atlanta so the ping I'm usually stuck with is over 150ms and closer to 250ms which is horrid.

Knology needs to get with the program or close the doors so someone can come in and offer something a little more like broadband.

seems that they are having a lot of trouble right now!!!!! last day i have noticed crappie pings and speeds in my house...

i haven't been doing cmd prompt test in the past couple of weeks but i guess i'll start again....

ok, 5 minutes later....

i haven't called them for a couple weeks since they came out to my house, b/c the RF spectrum was reversed in the digital. he replaced the hookup at the end of my drive way. and that seemed to get rid of my problems until it has popped up the last couple of days but i haven't noticed as i now works nights.

In the earnings call Knology says there installing more CMTS units to deal with growth issues and to lay the ground work for DOCSIS 3. They say that bandwidth demand has been on a steady rise.

Also something I've wanted from Knology for years has finally happened, they have moved to an open architecture for there internet service. Finally no more calling the support line to have a mac address changed when you install a new router or NIC. I for one would like to thank who ever finally pulled there head out there ass on this one.

Well Big, maybe that will help because it has been a steady decline lately.

Guess I won't have to clone my MAC with each new router change either!

'bout the same here. Randy from Tier 2 or 3 told me to send in traceroutes when it slowed down, but haven't heard back since I've done it.

They've stabilized around here in Prattville....

My Knology connection seems to run very close to 6 Mb/s
while Bellsouth is at 5.5 Mb/s...

Just called Comcast. My disconnect is still pending with them, so he was able to schedule me a reconnect as a trouble call with no installation fee, Friday. I gave K a shot, but not quite good enough for me :-(
