| Well you can define it how you like. What they are are privately owned companies that sell satellite services and install the service in return for commissions. You may consider this an agent, someone else may call it a reseller, but the fact remains they are private companies who aren't under the control of Dish trying to peddle their wares in anyway possible.
Many of them probably could care less about the DNC as Dish takes the heat--- not them. -- "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." -- Benito Mussolini

| reply to KrK you don't know the difference.
A reseller rebrands the service and bills the customer for the service under their brand. They do not get a bill from Dish Network. Nor does the company promote the Dish Network brand.
An agent will sell the Dish Network brand, and install the services, they also make a commission off selling and installing. They do not bill the customer for services.
THAT is is the difference between the two. The same as for Radio Shack. Just because they sell Sprint and AT$T Wireless and activate the services and make $$ off each sale that does not make them a reseller. That is an Agent. They do not rebrand the services and bill the customer under Radio Shack. |

| reply to Corydon If you read the article, the lawsuit is based purely apon the number of people complaining.
SO basically the lawsuit is filed because people complained that "Dish Network" called them to sell service. What's likely is this is false. As I stated earlier, people are going to file complaints against Dish Network because that is the service those resellers were pushing.
You can actually call Dish and complain about resellers calling you. They can then take some action, but there's really little they can do when people file complaints to the FTC etc because most of the time the specific reseller won't even be named. "Just some guy from Dish Network."
IMHO, they'll win the lawsuit on this grounds. Wasn't them. They'll have proof it wasn't them, and who it really was---- who knows, unless people list it. -- "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." -- Benito Mussolini
