| This is brilliant! Use your infrastructure to provide enterprise-grade services, thus helping both you (who are getting the money) and your customers (who are getting relatively cheap, ultra-high-speed backhaul). I know of providers who'd kill for a 50/20 circuit to their towers, though unfortunately they're where FiOS ain't.
I just wish FiOS was in more places. Back home Verizon doesn't even have DSL :/ |

| They already offer this. It's been offered as I said above. You just have to have the $$$$ to pay for it. Fiber was in place weeeell Before FiOS was ever thought of. How do you think that they got bandwidth to the VZW towers where they owned Fiber? You don't think they used T1s or DSL do ya?
If you got the $$$$ to get a fiber connection off the actual VZ Fiber Backbone then they'll give it to ya. |

| how do you figure the fiber is closer to the Tower? For all you all of the towers could have fiber to them already. FiOS did nothing to make fiber available at any tower. And I highly doubt they'll give you a 50/20 fiber link to resell.
Karl is taking something he sees as "new" and turning it into something that has been offered for YEARS!
And as I have said before- ATT, VZ, and Google are Gods on here to him. They give him and Justin $$$ for giving them thumbs up for everything and never posting anything neg about them. They can claim they don't all they want but if it wasn't true you'd see all kinds of stories on here about Google being sued in Small Claims Court, how one group is asking the Courts to stop GMail and Google Docs until Google can improve their polices on "privacy" and such.
You'd also see more stores on how ATT and VZ rip their customers off. |

| I'm not talking about Verizon running fiber to their own towers. I'm talking about them having carriers as customers for point to point circuits so other carriers can do the same. Oh and Verizon will definitely sell you a 50/20 link...you just have to pay for it  |

| The fiber was already in place to towers. The fiber was only in places where they had the fiber to start off with. Like if the Tower is in an ATT service area VZ is not going to run you a fiber line there- especially FiOS.
VZ is running carrier grade services to towers where people can afford them. You should go look at their Carrier Page along with ATT's. The service has been sold for years how do you think calls get routed off the towers where there is no backhual and no t1's.
Comcast and TWC does the same thing. |
