Imagine if the bailout went to build networks

Imagine if the bailout money, went to network building , rather then the pockets, of Frannie and Freddie executives, and AIG ?

I couldn't agree more. Imagine if the bailout money went to public education and network building. We'd have the most advanced schools with unlimited technological resources to educate our future.

Imagine there was no bailout money and we got to keep the money. Then we could decide for ourselves whether we wanted houses, internet or cocoa puffs. People can't even think for themselves anymore.

Oh well, I guess I can try to cling to the rim.

If we did keep the bailout money, each person would get about $11,000 according to the SF Chronicle.

Around here that is a 1% down payment on a cardboard box.

well let's see what would happen if a vast majority of the financial industry in the US collapsed... a possible subset of the outcomes include: nothing as new giants emerge(highly unlikely), US becomes a complete socialist/communinist regime, china/russia/or other country buys up the shambles that was known as the financial industry which effectively buys the US, or just a plunge into a epicly sized depression. take your pick.

would the best really matter if everything sucks?

to all those that complain about the executives getting their bonuses still, LEARN SOME MATH. their bonuses combined is 165 million, right? that is absolutely NOTHING when comparing to the +100 (700?) billion in bailout money. it's like arguing over cents for a mid to high-end TV. get over it people. if you throwing a fit about the executives getting their bonuses, you better to ready to gather and army and revolt when it comes to the bailout money.

Funny thing they dont tell you how much it would be if they only gave it to those with a home loan... they just say if they gave it to everybody... It shoulda went to those who have a home loan... intrest only or not...

Exactly...the ire is regarding the fact that key govt. officials who were preparing the bailout cash were also very aware of the bonuses. These politicians should be hung out to dry...but the American public is too stupid to see it. To be angry with AIG is definitely a displacement of anger but nothing makes much sense today and the truth is hard to find.
