| FIBER has always been the future of Telecom Also one the main reasons Verizon is at a point to able to provide longhaul traffic is due to merger/purchasing of MCI. MCI has an extensive international Fiber Optic back bone. This was probably one of the smartest moves Verizon ever made. One of the reasons MCI had so much debt was due to purchase and placing of thier backbone. When i worked for MCI just for fun if a customer called in issue with a circuit in California I would build a test circuit using test equipment in Spain, just to test thier circuit and thier would no differnce if i had used a test test node next door to them. |
