| step-up Verizon's FIOS network mainly proves that the cable companies were not willing to step up to the plate with a full-throttle deployment of docsis 3.0! Much of the cable industry pulls their dirty tricks to limit usage due to the popularity of downloading content vs buying video packages.
The cable companies that do compete on price leave FIOS in a premium broadband vs ordinary docsis broadband (usually priced lower than comparable fios in similar tier levels).
Where else to generate ROI? Wireless.. and they will milk that for all it's worth. As long as consumers see value in mobile broadband... vs freeloading on WIFI networks.
