Re: I think the story here is....

no but i worked for one. But like said many IPSs do NOT have the money to pay for the fiber. Do you have the $2,000+ for the fiber connection? if you do i'm sure some WISPs would be willing to take that money. For a T3 alone it costs that much in most of the country. by VZ playing "God" and announcing that Fiber is available for carriers does nothing except give the major players the upper hand. Mom and Pop ISPs can NOT pay for that. Hell many WISPs use xDSL connections or even Cable for their backbone connection.

Tell how they can afford the Fiber connection if they can barley afford a "business class' cable connection or a few xDSL connections.

T1 bandwidth is still cheaper than fiber circuits after installation charges. Lets blow 10 years of monthly service fees to install this fiber, when the bandwidth is just as expensive and measured in kbps. You pay Verizon to install the fiber, and then your given a tiny kbps cut of that fiber, and you don't even own what you had installed.

I know T1s are cheaper than Fiber. That was the point i was trying to make. But in some areas T1s are out of the question for many providers as well and rely on cable or DSL.

Okay, thanks, I missed the point you were trying to make. (You and I are so often opposed on opinions, I'm a little used to it!)
