Heres my situation. I have a router that i got free from orange that only has one ethernet port. I have a xbox and laptop that requires the same port. Is there anyway to get a splitter or something so that i can use the xbox and internet at the same time?
reply to Elmo Satriani You can buy an inexpensive 4-port switch which will plug into your router's ethernet port and will give you 4 ports to use. -- Write me up a 125.......I Can't Drive 55 »redrocker.com/ »cabowabo.com/
reply to Elmo Satriani k, so you need to ensure your router from Orange acts as a DHCP server. This will assign IP addresses to all units connecting through the above switch/hub etc. Some time ago I think it was 3-com made a 'splitter' for a LAN port Had 1 male RJ45 and 2 female RJ45 connections - assuming you can get your paws on such a beast and your orange router will assign IP addresses etc you should be home and dry.
