one ethernet port, two inputs, is it possible?

Heres my situation. I have a router that i got free from orange that only has one ethernet port. I have a xbox and laptop that requires the same port. Is there anyway to get a splitter or something so that i can use the xbox and internet at the same time?

is there any way around this situation

Sure, purchase a switch and plug it into the ethernet port on the router and then your xbox and laptop plug into the switch.

You can buy an inexpensive 4-port switch which will plug into your router's ethernet port and will give you 4 ports to use.

k, so you need to ensure your router from Orange acts as a DHCP server.
This will assign IP addresses to all units connecting through the above switch/hub etc.
Some time ago I think it was 3-com made a 'splitter' for a LAN port Had 1 male RJ45 and 2 female RJ45 connections - assuming you can get your paws on such a beast and your orange router will assign IP addresses etc you should be home and dry.
