Re: [Update] Realtek High Definition Audio Codecs for Windows vUse to update this driver. It was getting kind of annoying with the weekly driver updates. They update them way to frequently. I put a creative x-fi sound card in last year and the driver has only been updated one time. Much less of a hassle. Otherwise Realtek does have good onboard audio. Used it for nearly two years but come on do you have to keep updating the driver every week. |

said by tonyram57: but come on do you have to keep updating the driver every week. If the drivers you are currently using are working, why would you feel the need to update all the time? I used Creative products for 15 years or so but they really suck now with little/no support for new OS's. I went through hell trying to find working Vista drivers for my SB. Realtek is much better than Creative in their driver support. |

I hear that, Howie Same thing here w/ Creative SB. As a rule, I don't update unless there's an issue..or I am doing a clean install. Whichever the case may be |

I've had no problems at all with Vista 64 bit drivers for my Creative X-fi extreme gamer card. The X-fi CMSS-3D headphone feature is reason alone for me to use the X-fi card. If you've never tried it, your missing out.
I also had great luck with my Realtek onboard sound too. |

Glad to hear you've had good luck with Creative drivers. The Vista/Win 7 forums are full of people who have had less than similar results. I'm a happy Realtek user now. Edited for missing "/" LOL |

Re: [Update] Realtek High Definition Audio Codecs for Windows vthe reason for the mirror's being slow is that they are based in Taiwan |

For those that HATE Realtek and the slow downloads - go to Major Geeks: 2k/XP/2003 » majorgeeks.com/Realtek_H ··· 902.htmlVista » majorgeeks.com/Realtek_H ··· 513.html*#1 Florida mirror has been real fast for me lately! |

Thank you (miss the twinkle in the eye) |

It was the downloading. There mirrors which use ftp which are always slow would take forever.
Realtek does have great onboard audio and used it for nearly two years but I wanted better sound so I got a dedicated soundcard. |
