2 edits | Upload speed greatly slows Download speed problem Back when the Redwood City Area was RCN, If I was uploading a file to a friend I could do so with out worry and still be able to do what ever I liked on the net and get about my 10megabit speed. Now with Astound, and sense they "upgraded" the lines to begin supporting 18meg (also mentioned they couldn't handle it). If I upload anything to a friend, my speed dips down to the speed of my upload. This has been a big problem.
Yes I've gone through a computer change sense then and changed network cards, and I have been wanting to test if it is in fact a Half/full duplex issue. So far I haven't been able to confirm it is or isn't. To my knowledge my NIC supports both Half and Full duplex. Its a "TRENDnet, TEG-PCITXR 32-bit 10/100/1000Mbps PCI ADAPTER"
Honestly I'm really on the side of "Astound has messed something up" because... really if I remember this problem cropped up on my previous system as well. I sadly don't remember if it did or not. I was hoping someone could confirm or deny this issue. Or at least give me a better way to test/get it fixed. |
