Capn0bvious : That makes me really wonder why, before the switch from RCN to Astound, I could easly get my 10meg and 768kbps at the same time with no problem... Stupid Wave, I've been missing RCN for a long time now. I as is feel sorry for a lot of the techs that have come to my home saying they are quitting in 1-2 weeks. It seemed to be the norm on the first year of the takeover.

drew : I'm really not kidding about this... this is highly regarded as the #1 problem with cable HSI. It's just a function of the spec.

Capn0bvious : I posted this in the Astound Broadband section as well, but seeing so few people actually post in that forum, I figured I would post it here too. Really I just need as much feedback as possible right now and I'm admittedly pretty jumpy/anxious to get it fixed. That and really frustrated.

Back when the Redwood City Area was RCN, If I was uploading a file to a friend I could do so with out worry and still be able to do what ever I liked on the net and get about my 10megabit speed. Now with Astound, and sense they "upgraded" the lines to begin supporting 18meg (also mentioned they couldn't handle it). If I upload anything to a friend, my speed dips down to the speed of my upload. This has been a big problem.

Yes I've gone through a computer change sense then and changed network cards, and I have been wanting to test if it is in fact a Half/full duplex issue. So far I haven't been able to confirm it is or isn't. To my knowledge my NIC supports both Half and Full duplex. Its a "TRENDnet, TEG-PCITXR 32-bit 10/100/1000Mbps PCI ADAPTER"

Honestly I'm really on the side of "Astound has messed something up" because... really if I remember this problem cropped up on my previous system as well. I sadly don't remember if it did or not. I was hoping someone could confirm or deny this issue. Or at least give me a better way to test/get it fixed.
