| IP security cameras Need to get a general thought what the opinions on the following IP wireless cameras. So far searching the web I find good reviews on sites and bad reviews on sites. These cameras can also be wired as well.
The two cameras I am looking at are.
• Dlink DCS-5300G • Linksys WVC200 Wireless PTZ internet camera w/ audio.
thoughts? have you used one? If you have how did you like it?
In your post please list the type of camera you had and what you liked about it and disliked.
THanks david -- If you have a topic in the direct forum please reply to it or a post of mine, I get a notification when you do this. Koetting Ford, Granite City, illinois... YOU'RE FIRED!!

Personally i'm more familiar with Panasonic IP cameras and only the WV-NS202 was annoying to me. And that was only because the built-in webserver was mostly ActiveX and hard to use remotely.
However most of the Panasonic IP cams are great. I'd highly recommend them. BestBuy sometimes carries a wired model for $199 and wireless for $299.
I've also had others state they were satisfied with TrendNet cameras.
Also, I pair my cameras with software called BlueIris (»www.blueirissoftware.com). I allow it to do any recording / motion triggering and the support for it is fantastic. |

It's hard to recommend something without knowing what you're trying to do with it. |

They do use an ActiveX applet for digital zoom though.

 | reply to David personally i like Linksys. |

 | reply to David is there a budget? |

I bought one of their infrared models for $269. The "white" version is not infrared and costs around $200. All of the models are wireless and work very well. I picked one up last week and ordered another with an external enclosure.
I may soon purchase a dome camera for the front exterior of my house. I'm currently looking at models from Mobotix and Axis.
I also recommend Blue Iris. It's powerful, easy-to-use and supports many cameras. |

 | reply to David I forgot to mention y-cam cameras also out a stream compatible with most cell phones. |
