Re: [general] question on boosting signal Or for a MUCH cheaper solution: If you can get power to around the halfway point either via POE or directly powered at the location, use a basic switch with 2 ~250ft cat5 runs. A switch works essentially as a repeater (takes in data, computes it as needed to send the data off to it's destination, then spits it back out at full signal from itself).
