[Zoom] Zoom 5590 X6 modem power requirements

Can someone who has a Zoom 5590 X6 modem please let me know what the output voltage and amps are for the power supply. During a move, mine got put in with some other supplies. I have 3 that fit, but they have different voltages and I do not want to damage the modem by experimenting.

I don't have one, but did you check the User Guide to see if the specification section shows any details?

Also does the label on the Modem itself specify the Voltage and mAh ratings?

That is part of the problem. The modem does not have any power specifications at all, and the user manual simply says "power cube" without specifying voltage/amps. I looked online to see if I could get the info from the manufacturers spec sheet, but it also says power adapter.

Have you contacted Zoom's tech-support people?

I thought this would be faster (more responsive). But I will send them an e-mail.

I had a couple of these things. It depends on whether you got older or newer version. The ones with default firmware 3.0.7, from January, 2008 or later had the ecology minded energy conservation adapter with 12 V DC and 500 mA. If you have older one, it's 12 V DC and 1000 mA. These were manufactured until Dec., 2007.

When there are different people posting AC and DC as the Power Adapter type, I get real concerned. That is a prescription for a fire if the wrong type (AC or DC) power supply is being used or is selected in error...
