Re: [Speed Issues] Alabama Slow Speeds AGAIN I notice some of this seems to have started when Charter has made a change in the area in recent days or the past week or two.
Current traces show 1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 192.168.1.1 2 8 ms 8 ms 7 ms 10.238.0.1 3 6 ms 5 ms 6 ms 96.34.74.60 **Change** 4 11 ms 10 ms 11 ms 71.91.53.193
Traces used to be 1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 192.168.1.1 2 15 ms 10 ms 14 ms 10.238.0.1 3 7 ms 9 ms 7 ms 71.91.53.117 **prior IP** 4 16 ms 11 ms 12 ms 71.91.53.193
Also - when I'm seeing the slow speeds - I see high latecny on the Gateway

And when the speeds are back to normal I see normal latency on the Gateway

 | The download speed has dropped again. It was working fine for almost 2 weeks now. I am getting only 2 meg down and I pay for the 10 meg. I see others in Ala are having the same problem. This is happening at night just like before. trig |

This may be more of a Montgomery related problem. At times at night my speeds drop and the latency on my CMTS goes up to the 20ms to 40ms+ range for periods of time. |

I was having issues last time, but I appear to be okay this time. I'm in Calera, which is fed from Montevallo.
I'm on the 10x1 plan.

My upload on this test is lower than normal, but I'm running a backup right now to an online backup provider. The upload to the backup provider appears to be saturating the 1Mbps upload.
The last couple of nights, when I wasn't running an off site backup, my upload was normal. |

pbarrowPremium join:2003-09-16 Montgomery, AL kudos:1 1 edit | No - this is not the same (wvfiber) issue as before. This may be more local to Montgomey or certain areas of Montgomey. If some other areas go through Montgomery - such as Auburn and others do or used to - then they might be affected. But it cold be that my problems are just local to the CMTS I'm on - except - All during the the day and night there are some speedtest sites that I was getting great results on 2 weeks ago that I get erratic or bad results on now. |

Will continue to check over next few nights (and longer for that matter) |
