I guess I just don't understand

The whole classic Qwest/USWest 'merger' has been a mess, and it's finally getting cleaned up, company is profitable for the foreseeable future, company keeps saying the debt is ok, easily manageable, already sold off everything else (wireless, yellow pages, buildings, etc.). And only going to get a couple billion for classic Qwest? WTF is going on in Denver? My head is about to explode!
