Overclocked my Radeon 4870, got a minor problem

So at lunch today I decided to just mess with my new Radeon 4870 a bit. It was running at 36c so I figured what the heck. Well, I set my memory clock at 1000mhz. It artifacted right away and crashed my system. So, I need to get back in and change it back but it just artifacts and crashes every time now. I tried the default resolution from the vista boot menu and the system came up but then when I tried to get into Catalyst it crashed.

Im a tech so I know I can fix it when I get home but I figured what the hay, slow day and Im bored. Do I just need to go into safe mode to reset it?

As a side note, this sapphire card sucks for overclocking. I went with an open box one from newegg. Also I needed an older card where it exhausts out the back due to my case setup. Anyhow, I can get good OC out of the GPU but can not even bump the memory up past the stock setting of 900mhz. I replaced a 4850 with this 1gb 4870 because the 4850 went into a clients machine. That Asus 4850 would do 690/1180 all day long. Not a big deal since it makes little difference......

Thanks in advance for any help!

To get it fixed I had to restore to when I installed Catalyst and then install catalyst again. This set it to the base clock rate. Pretty inconvenient but oh well!
