Chicago, IL | Refilling propane tanks in Chicago? Anyone knows a place to refill propane tanks in the NW side of Chgo? I used to bring my grill propane tank to True Value on Higgins just east of Harlem to refill but they're closed now. The reason I ask is the tank I have is new, it came with the Weber grill I bought. I'd rather not trade it in if I have a choice. |

Butera at Montrose and Cumberland was 14.99 now I think its 16.99. They usually have a sale around the summer holidays. I used to get mine refilled at Schultz also till they closed, now I just exchange. |

Cant most Ace Hardware stores do tank refills (or at least exchanges)? I dont remember the prices of it but Im often at the local ace when I'm home and I always see people with propane tanks.

Chicago, IL | Just a quick followup to my original post. Over the winter, I found my parents left my tank out so it doesn't look spanking new anymore. No need to drive around looking to refill. I did some calling for exchanges and thought I would share it here. It may save some others an un-needed trip or two.
