Nothing else comes close to the mileage I have gotten from WinRAR: I have used it constantly on all of my computers for more than ten years and probably will for at least another ten! Yes there's a couple of good freebies now, like 7-zip and TUGZip, but hands down the best $20 (lifetime upgrades) I ever spent on *any* PC utility. |

IZArc backed up by 7-zip. IZArc has the more familiar interface (on the rare occasion I use it) and also a context-menu item I frequently use: Extract to \Name_of_Archive which 7-zip doesn't have. (or at least my version of 7-zip)

WinRAR.
Don't use 7zip as long as the author doesn't take on the GUI.
Have been fiddling with PAQ, but it's doomed to stay some forgotten testcase because compression/time-wise it is utterly useless. |
