Re: Bandwidth usage: share your experience under new rules.

Looks like your getting away with a lot and I would bet it's because it's a business account.

If you think you've gone over by 600% or more then that's 720Mb's worth of data and if they cut off the other gentleman at only 270Gb's then something is very wrong with this setup.

Accuracy of meter: It said I had 0 GB for 5 days followed by 350+ GB on one day. I wonder if it was "compensating".

Meter's definitely broken in some way.

Accuracy of meter: Meter's definitely broken in some way but still accurate within +/- 10% overall.

I'm too busy to download more, I'll probably only reach 900%.

And I see a new section that I didn't notice before on the page:

Usage notifications sent for the current month: 2
Here are the e-mail notifications that were sent to your account:

Validation Usage Notification
Date Description
04-14-2009 12:48:58 85% - Standard
04-14-2009 06:57:05 100% - Standard

These times match up with my received emails, and the meter is accurate when comparing to PRTG, for me anyways... of course I'm not going to hit a TB this month like someone else

The meter appears far more accurate than it has been in the past. I know that I used to be able to do overnight downloads and it definitely didn't pick everything up. Of course, I haven't done much downloading recently so it could be that I'm doing it mainly during earlier hours. If I remember, I'll queue up some information overnight and see how it goes.

Looks like it. I'm just too busy to download lately. I'm not sure if I'll do the same thing again next month unless I want a 2nd verification that I can push such limits. It takes way too much time + effort and I don't have a backup ISP like most people do.

I've actually downloaded more than a TB even when caps were enforced on a non-enterprise plan. People don't believe me when I tell them that every Cogeco meter has had/have bugs, albeit rare.

I actually miss pro/soho speeds for heavy downloading but those plans are just way too expensive.

I'm at > 690%, I would've been at 800% if I kept it up.

Yea, I ran out of stuff I wanted to download after the first day of hardcore testing of the meter. After that, I was just grabbing stuff for the sake of downloading.

Most of the testing has been burned on discs that I'm quite sure will never again see the light of day

I got about 10 TB of storage total heh. HDDs are the way to go. I most likely have about 3 TB possible but I won't download just anything and filtering out the crap takes time and I actually use 95% of anything I download. Go high def exclusively, it makes everything much larger

I wish!! I have only 0.6 TB of HDD space between both machines
time for an upgrade me thinks!

Hmm lets see Business Starter 100% = 120Gb so if my math is right 835% = 1002Gb's or just over a Terabytes worth of data.

It's hard to believe that you haven't made someones list with an amount that is that high, so I would guess you are right and the "Business Counter" if there is one must be broken.

Any Comment here Cogeco????????????

Yeah the web guys were doing their big website update last night and I guess somethings went awry (as they always seem to!) so people have been working to get everything back up since early AM. I don't have a concrete ETA but I can say it's a high priority so should be resolved shortly.

Is it just me or did they revert the website? At least it's working now.
