| You know what? Fuck rain.
Met opener at Cincy delayed until 1:40PM as of now. Who knows if they get to play at all in that cold rain. I wanted to spend my lunch hour watching the first three innings, and now I have no idea how to schedule my time. -- You're so vain... I bet you think this post is about you.

1 edit | Re: Official NY Baseball Thread® - 2009 Season You know what? I frickin LOVE the fact that they have a tremendous variety. I just spent the past 40 min walking around checking it all out. Center field rocks the BBQ ribs and pulled pork. World's Fare Market has antipasto, sushi, quesadillas, good soups, chili, and plenty more. They got a seafood place that does po boys. Prices are actually not much different than a Manhattan diner. I know it won't be cheap, but if I want to be cheap, Ill bring my own sandwich. They did food right at this place.
In other news... Three pitches. THREE FUCKING PITCHES. Hello season of mediocrity. -- You're so vain... I bet you think this post is about you.

| Re: Official NY Baseball Thread® - 2009 Season I'll tell ya - It ain't easy being a Mets fan. Amid all of the Mets bullpen problems over the last couple of seasons, two of the guys who were exiled come in and sit the Mets down without so much as a whimper in the final two innings of the first game at the new park. Fucking embarrassing. -- Procrastination is like masturbation. It seems like a good idea at the time, but in the end, you're really only f*cking yourself. | |

| Re: Official NY Baseball Thread® - 2009 Season Yea Ollie is going and Manuel wants to start Sheff in right field. Wrong time to do that since Ollie is a flyball pitcher. I am going to the game Thursday and Saturday... At least I can call Saturday Opening Day since it is the first day game -- Mets, Cowboys, Devils | |

| I saw that. I've been in many a bar league softball game that was played a lot better than that. And we stunk.
OT I just read that Mark Fidrych was found dead yesterday. I don't know how old you guys were in 1976 but if you were able to follow baseball you loved The Bird. He was a rare find and unfortunately didn't last long enough. I am not a big fan of pitch counts but in his 1st season Mark pitched 24 complete games. By comparison Johan Santana has a total of nine. It's no wonder he developed shoulder problems.
But besides his ability he was fun to watch and good for baseball. RIP Mark and thanks.
