said by MuDvAyNe :Why did the Mets resign Perez? Scott Boras put together a sales pitch binder that actually had a chapter claiming "Perez Is One of Baseballs Top 5 Left-Handed Starting Pitchers".
In the chapter Perez Turns Corner in 2006, charts are used to argue that the pitching statistics for Perez, who is now 27, are similar to those of Randy Johnson and the Hall-of-Fame pitcher Sandy Koufax at the same age. Whats more, the charts argue that Perezs control problems will improve, just like they did for Koufax and Johnson as they got older.

Barry Bonds once said that Perez is the toughest pitcher he has ever faced! Just hope someone gets into his head soon! 1. What kind of stuff? Missing the strike zone by a mile or laying it right down the middle so people can spank his ass.
2. I guess the Roids got to Bonds brain when he made that comment. -- Mets, Cowboys, Devils |

| reply to jwersan said by jwersan :Anyone want to buy some Mets tickets! This is NOT going to be a fun season if they keep this up... Believe it or not, somebody at my gym was looking to give out four good tickets for last night's game and four good tickets for today's game for free to anybody who would take them. I work out at a very large gym not far from CitiField and in 2 hours nobody took the tickets.
This is the earliest in the season I have been offered free tickets, by a stranger no less. I expect lots of free tickets especially if they continue to play the way they are playing.
The people I know who have gone to the games so far say even with free tickets they spend a fortune on parking and food. Some of the corporate people I know with tickets are choosing to give away all 4 tickets to clients and not attend. They say taking the clients is an expensive proposition and they are watching budgets rather than attending games and paying for clients food and drinks. In the past it was mandatory for them attend games with the clients. -- I'd rather be a free man in my grave than living as a puppet or a slave. Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely |

| If you're running with clients it's one thing, but for the most part going to a ballgame does not have to be an expensive night out. Park under the highway. Bring your own food. You're pretty much left just buying drinks--10 bucks for 2 bottles of soda.
Last night was a sellout, btw. It does suck to watch the Mets when they play poorly, but it's not like I don't have a good time. I really can only remember a time or two out of the over 100 games Ive been to in my life where I really didnt have a good time, and one of them was when I had some drunken asshole spilling beer all over the place, including on me. -- You're so vain... Did they start charging for parking under the highway? I saw booths going up. I used to park there often.
Another option for those that don't know is municipal parking in Flushing. $4 for 12 hours. I usually walk to the stadium if I park there but the subway is also an option from Flushing. -- I'd rather be a free man in my grave than living as a puppet or a slave.
