Did you see the game? WOW! Big screen, Hi-Def and on the clock! Life can be good. Wake was in top form and got a great hit! Tito, the dugout and bullpen LOVED the solid single he hit. Who says pitchers can't hit? The knuckle ball looked like it was a slow anti-bat missile. Turner Field/Stadium/Park (whatevah) is a great place to watch baseball BTW.
Sox 3 games in first AL East.
Go Sox! I can't afford the tix to Paul McCartney in Fenway. |

| reply to capecoddah OK, not so good today. Brad Penny is still a debate. No Cape League game behind work tonight, but "Touching the Game, the Story of the Cape Cod Baseball League" was on NESN. A great movie, maybe a ~dozen~ guests in the lobby watched it.

| reply to capecoddah OK, let's review at the 1/2 way point. 54 34 .614 Second best in all, 3 game lead in AL East.
Great (not perfect) bullpen. Do they still have a percussion section? Dice-K and Smoltz = Bats are waking up. Position players are good. Green (SS) is working well in a recently weak position. 6 to All-Star game, but Pedroia is staying home with the wife (good boy). Wakefield is doing GREAT! Knuckleballers are a strange breed, but he drifts the ball then tosses heat/slider/curve. Eck gets worked up talking about him and it's fun to watch.
The team as a whole seem to be having fun getting paid to play a game. Tito is getting more like Belichek in post game press conferences.
Comments are always welcome. Go SOX!!! |

| reply to capecoddah "What About Sal?" a short indi movie on NESN. Funny stuff! About a man that promised to spread his friend Sal's ashes in left field of Fenway Park. This was all I could find about it though: »www.reuters.com/article/pressRel···20090107 |

| reply to capecoddah OK Sox fans, this is the week to shine! @TB and NYY! The NEW Martinez has produced, but that was BaltO.
I've skipped some time here, but let's remember Jim Rice who is actually a talkative guy for his HOF status! He was asked some highly-charged questions about "off the field" in the 1970's. He kept quiet and was called "aloof". I met him and asked the standard question of sports and rock stars: "Did you have fun?" He said "YEAH! I love baseball!" He seemed a very pleasant man.
Go Sox! 4 games in the Bronx! Make a season sweep! |

| Wakefield is back! Great game!
2 HRs by Ortiz, one just happened to be a walk-off.
Bard gets a win for some good work, although Wakefield should have owned it!
Bard, 100 mph without working too hard. Imagine trying to hit that after seeing 60 mph knuckle balls all evening! |
