Yea it is a little beefier than your average diode, its there to protect the radio if reverse polarity is applied it should blow the fuse in the power cord. |

| reply to utahluge said by utahluge :Ok. I have cut D301 and when I applied power, the radio does turn on. So, now I guess I just need a replacement. Thank you very very much for your help! I hope one day I will be able to help you too! Good deal. I'm glad to know it works! Call me a bit selfish, but I love proving to people at work (Russ...) that I do halfway know what I'm doing, even if I can't see it.
I've told him that's what learning theory is all about. If you know mentally how it's supposed to work, you can figure it out without seeing it. -- Boone County Scanner Feed: »boone.mo.scanamerica.us/

| reply to utahluge said by utahluge :Ya. Sorry. I tested with my brother about 25 yards away and I could TX & RX no problem. Note: I was transmitting 65 Watts and forgot to make sure the low-end (5 Watts) was working well too. I should be able to test again later this evening for the low-end. Thanks. WTG.
Saved yourself a bit of scratch either way.
Good on ya. -- A filthy mind is a terrible thing to waste.
