I'm sorry, but their choice of names ("Pirate"), and providing tools to facilitate the verb form of that word is clear to everyone.
Personally, I like the way they're playing into the government's hand. This creates a perfect test case of what constitutes aiding and abetting.
BTW: I'm not a big fan of copyright as it stands now. I believe copyright is a social moderation to natural contract law, and that it was originally intended to benefit society in return for moderating the common law. That benefit was "fair use" and "public domain" (making society the ultimate owner).
The way copyright durations have extended to 5-10 times longer than they were 20-30 years ago, society is being shortchanged for its involvement in what should be a private transfer of property.
I can see piracy as a form of civil disobedience. But, most people engaging in piracy aren't thinking in such terms of reform. They just want stuff for free. I guess we could say that the imbalance in copyright is a direct result of the imbalance of civic virtue among the people today.
