The charge was that Comcast couldn't cut users off for using "too much" unless they defined a number that constituted "too much." Right. Comcast came out with that figure for Florida and made it nationwide... but why the apparent disparity between 250GB disclosed and 500GB not getting a call as was the case mentioned a few posts back... doesn't make sense....

Comcast stated they would continue with their current plan of identifying the top 1000 users system wide and having the abuse department contact them about their usage. The change is that in the past the calls would state the subscriber needed to "drastically reduce" their usage, but provided no real numbers for what they needed to do to avoid future trouble.
It would appear the logic still remains that you need to be a top 1000 user on the network AND have usage in excess of 250GB to get the call. (not just simply exceeding 250GB)
It's sort of like speeding tickets. The safest route is to stay below the limit, but if you do exceed the limit your risk is somewhat limited by what the people around you are doing. | |

No? No, because "they" may operate on a Niemoller system. First go after bandwidth "hogs", then after alternate VoIP users, then after Internet radio listeners and so on. Then all will be fine because only Grandma will be sending emails about her dog, which home use is really all about.
