Ok won't pay for content but will pay PB so they can steal it? WTF?
What is TBP stealing? They are just a search engine.
Yeah right "search engine". At any rate I was refering to the people that use PB not PB itself. I would have though that was more than obvious.
Yeah RIGHT search engine, do you understand the technology? PB is no different than any other search engine out there.

It's already established that *intentionally* aiding and abetting is a crime. You can't open a "smoke shop" selling bongs, drip irrigation, day-grow lights, etc. and claim "I'm not selling weed."

PS. I don't support criminalization of weed. But, these kinds of "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" positions are really lame. It's obvious what *Pirate's* Bay is about. And, why they feel the need to implement a VPN.

what are you talking about? all those devices you mentioned could be used for tobacco..your comparison\premise is FLAWED. Only the **AAS get away with frivolous lawsuits in this country, essentially broadly extorting THOUSANDS of dollars, this whole thing is one sided. I say remember the tea party??

Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

I didn't say a "smoke and hydroponic shop" *couldn't* sell things that have a legitimate purpose. I said that it's already established that isn't a defense of intentionally aiding and abetting illegitimate purposes.

I'm not saying the lines are clear. But, when a group names itself *Pirate* Bay, and implements a VPN to get around newely enacted rules to prevent piracy, arguing that it "could" be used for legitimate purposes is just a "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" maneuver.

I wasn't there personally. But, it was about the colonials being taxed by a law passed by the British parliament (not their elected representatives). Thus, "taxation without representation."

The Founders weren't opposed to taxation -- as long as it was passed by their elected representatives.

How does that apply to *Pirate* Bay making it easier to evade laws preventing stealing?

Thats just it, we can go around ASSUMING all things are used for illegal and morally perverse reasons, its the the new post 9/11 mentality, outlaw and ask questions later. This the same snowball that people are citing for illegal wire tapping, saying " I have nothing to hide, let them tap all they want".Our freedoms are getting eroded because WE ARE LETTING THEM BE. We are under attack from the very government we elect and their corporate masters. I say fight on ALL fronts anything to break them...sorry if you all disagree...I will fight till the end. We were raped on Wall street AND have to pay to bail these Fuckers out. I am NOW WORKING to bail out corprate greed. I will fucking steal ANYTHING that is not nailed down..they pushed I am just pushing back.
