Fiber can go over 1Gbps and up to 100Gbps im guessing.

But with thoes cables speeds i can imagine network slowdowns.

Verizon's GPON maxes out at 2.4GBps and that's shared among 32 users, sorry.

There is really no limit to fiber optic technology...unlike copper that is distance sensitive since it uses electric signal so the farther away the more signal quality you lose resulting in slower and slower speed...
I think it goes as fast as your hardware can support it
