kudos:18 | Companies that chose to offshore tech support from the USA did not do so based on any reputation better quality (or even similar quality) of existing tech support skills in India, it was solely a cost per hour/cost per employee based decision (India labor is much cheaper and benefits are cheaper) and then the US companies still had to train the new hires in India before they could even begin to start handling support calls from US customers. That and language classes were given to try to reduce/neutralize their native language accent that is hard to understand for many US citizens.

Actually, that should be "cheapest", not "best". I am at least as good a technician as any in India (I was ranked in the 80th percentile while HP still kept jobs in the U.S.A.). The trouble is, companies like HP can shop around the world for workers willing to take the lowest wage HP will offer. But I can't feasibly follow the jobs (visa restrictions on immigrant labor in the places with the lowest pay).

I've taken support from Techonsupport. But the problem is still there. They didn't solved the problem.
My computer is very slow and showing some error whenever i open any program.
Could you suggest me where will i get perfect support. my Computer is 5 years old and I don’t wanna lose it.

If you installed their crapware your computer may be slow because it's running their junk -- best thing would be to get rid of it and the (likely) other things that have taken up residence on your machine.

Just had a call from a guy with a heavy Indian accent who claimed that my computer was in danger and he could help. When I questioned him as to how he knew this he gave a vary vague answer. Asked if there would be a charge and he said yes.
He lost interest when I said that I had lost my job and was completely broke.
