Most do but there is the catch. Cisco adds their own proprietary extensions to their client such that it is only able to connect to a Cisco device. Nortel used to do the same thing but may not do so any longer. I stopped using their devices a year ago.

Zyxel switched from the re-badged Safenet client to a re-badged Thegreenbow client which is much more reliable and is updated much more frequently to resolve issues.

The price is reduced on the Zyxel client over both original clients and you can evaluate it for 30 days before registering.

I think the most common IPSec client is from SafeNet - however it is generally (and more cheaply) sold by other vendors, rebadged as their own.
For example, I used to buy it from Netgear (they were cheapest at the time, don't know what the current situation is)
See

for a 5-user licence (or change the 5 for a 1 for the single-client version)

I think Zyxel probably also sell the same client (maybe the version number differs slightly between vendors) and might also be worth checking the price...

Guys I have a general question in regards to opensource firewalls such as monowall or pfsense. When you are setting up ipsec based road warrior access with these firewalls what type of ipsec client do you use? For example, should I be able to connect a cisco or sonicwall ipsec client up to monowall or pfsense. I thought that if the client followed ipsec standards that one would be able to wire pretty much any ipsec client up.
