Go Sprint!

Sprint has been doing a lot of things right. I hope they can manage to turn around the ship of public opinion, which they had been steering in the wrong direction for entirely too long and which only recently changed course.

Pre will be awesome! It's from the people who pretty much invented the smartphone category at USRobotics/3Com/Palm/Handspring. If these people can't create the perfect smartphone, no one can - regardless of what the Apple fanboys tell you.

I just hope, and as a blackberry user - wish, that they get email right.

Email on a mobile device has been and will be the killer app - and no one but RIM can get it to work right.

Back to Sprint - their plans are unbeatable. Their customer service has improved dramatically - it's night and day. Their device line-up is respectable. And the network is the best.

If you haven't given them a chance or are a past customer who walked away due to endless troubles...take a second look at Sprint.

I've never had a problem with Exchange on my Windows Mobile phone. It works great and is just as fast as a Blackberry. I've even used the Windows Live app to push my Hotmail account to me, and most of the time it'll arrive on my phone before it even gets to my Outlook inbox.

A few people here have Sprint and love them and the coverage is excellent plus theres 3g also which AT&T's 3g in my area is pretty sucky. Their plans are also cheaper than what AT&T and Verizon offer.

Use a recent WinMo or iPhone. Microsoft's ActiveSync push is hands down better than the Blackberry implementation and Apple licensed it from Microsoft. Additionally, there is no per-device CAL required with non-BES devices and you're not tied to the RIM network.

And yes, I administrate both types of devices.

Sprint isn't bad. I've had issues with migration from Nextel.
I do prefer the flexibility of GSM - with SIM cards and unlocked devices that Sprint and Verizon do not offer.

I currently have both a Sprint Treo 800W and and AT&T HTC Tilt. Both have their good and bad points.

As a business user, I do appreciate being able to use the internet while receiving a call (SSH session) on AT&T, while it will drop on the Treo due to EVDO not being able to support simultaneous voice + data.

Beyond that, network works well on both, although I do end up roaming more on Sprint than on AT&T.

I do have corp discounts on both devices, and it actually makes AT&T rates cheaper (28% discount).

My coworker in San Jose area has Sprint Moto Q, and has to stand by the window to use it.

Yes, I agree - Their CS is great now. I have the old Sero plans and was on the 49.99/mo plan for 1250 minutes, and wanted to drop to the 500 min for 30/mo. I thought it was going to be a hassel doing so since they are grandfathered plans. I opened up a chat and within 5 min it was done and within 20min it was visible on my sprint.com account. That is the way it should be! Kudos to Sprint - no billing errors in over a year too!

We walked from Sprint because of recurring billing nightmares. They also seem to have spottier coverage when my wife used them.

As for the Blackberry vs iPhone and mail, I get my mail from Exchnage on my iPhone faster than Outlook gets it. Sometimes with my Blackberry there was a few minute delay.

ActiveSync works like a champ.

So Blackberry is not the only company that has "got email" right. IMO Blackbery vs iPhone for email - the win would go to the iPhone.

it being on Sprint is a no go for me. I have the Blackberry Storm and previous to that had a XV6800 Win Mo 6.1. Sprint has not made improvements on Customer Service to my liking. Besides I get a 20% Data and minute plan discount with VZW. I have lost faith in Palm.

If this doesn't go good say goodbye to Palm.

Got to say I've stuck with Sprint for the last few years and while there have been a few billing hiccups along the way, it's all been sorted out in the end. Coverage has generally been great. The only drawback is that it doesn't work overseas (and considering how cheap it is to pick up a temporary mobile in most countries, that's not a big deal)

Yeah, RIM really has email down to a "T" huh?
