Good idea.

I think it is a great idea, if the Cuban gov't will go for it. I have no ties to Cuba but would like to visit. Maybe you can change something by interacting with it. So.... Verizon and their Fios product would be great for Cuba's internet consumer. The big question is, can Cubans afford it? Will the gov't allow this to happen? If things play out well, I could see Cuba becoming a wealthy little nation with a high standard of living.

If you have no relatives in Cuba(to level of 2nd cousin) the rules on visiting Cuba aren't changed yet. The new rules only apply to those with relatives.

Damn, so much for my vacation in Havana.

I don't know if every American will be able to visit Cuba eventually, but right now I find this a bit discriminatory.

Trust me, you CAN visit Cuba if you want to. BUT, do not take a flight from Europe or Canada. They WILL report you to the US. However, the easiest way is through cancun. It's only about a 45 minute flight, and only about $300 round trip. Be sure to buy the ticket with cash, there are 2 flights a day. Cuba will not stamp your passport (they give you a little card), and the fascist pigs in US customs will never find out.
Now, having said that, cuba is NOT a 'tourist' place. The hotels have no hot water, food is 'bland', and transportation is dodgy at best. I would recommend a tour, something like GAP adventures works well, cuba colonial was 15 days. the CUC is traded at airport 1 to 1 dollars, but you can get 3-1 on the street. American money works fine, but be sure to have some tourist dollars just in case.

I am contacting the Bureau of Citizen Affairs to have you denaturalized and placed in Guantanamo Bay.

Just fly to Canada then to Cuba. You do realize that the USA is basically the only country in the world that doesn't fly to Cube.

Canada DOES report US citizens traveling to Cuba, so don't do that.

Ahh yes. The only legal way for a majority of Americans to go to Cuba...
