Thanks for the great poll! I use 4 to make sure I keep squeeky clean: MBAM, SpywareBlaster, HP Guru's Hosts, and Spybot S&D.

They're worth their weight in gold.

New year and a change on the supported software for me

Uninstalled SAS which was used for voluntary based research.
Then installed MBAM as they are now my client

Guess i'm a lil' bit biased but those who know me,know that i helped spread the good word on SAS when it was making its rise as the new kid on the block,so i know a diamond when i see it

Well i know that at MBAM it has gone up another level in malware detection & removal

I used many but only run one as a resident, Windows Defender.
I use the following in order of my preference.

SuperAntispyware (free version)
Windows Defender
A-Square (free version)
Spybot
Ad-aware

I've never used Malwarebytes Anti-Malware but I plan to install it soon. I run scans every once in a while and mainly find cookies.

Just realized I used NOD32 4.0.417 which also detects spyware.

I am not going to list what I use. No need. I can tell you that I use all of the best, and from the poll so far, many others agree with my choices. Yes. I do us more than one. I probably have over done, but so be it. Layer upon layer works well for me.

Thank you for putting this poll together. I just used last years to help someone else, and I can now suggest that they use this years.

I typically use the following tools on people's spyware infested PC's.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
SUPERAntiSpyware
Ad-Aware
Spybot Search and Destroy
Sophos Anti-Rootkit
Windows Defender
and
Avast.

I doubt much gets past all that.

Thank you for this poll.

I am now using Malwarebytes instead of AdAware, the new free Anniversary version of which is disappointing.

Appreciated.

Nice Poll! Mahalo!

Now that Avira Antivir Personal edition ver 9 has the same great antispyware as the paid versions, there is not much reason for me to use anything else.

However, I feel that Spyware Blaster is a fine compliment to Antivir. Plus, I will keep SuperAntispyware for a second opinion (on demand use only)...layered approach, of course.

I have an old version of Spybot that I cannot remove and no one has been able to help and be successful. I'd like to also use Spybot on demand if I could ever get the old version off.

Here, I mainly use Windows Defender, Spybot S&D and SUPERAntiSpyware. Occasionally I'll download Malwarebyte's Anti Malware and run that as well.
