revl8er posted : At least you guys have internet access. After moving from my parents house I've been without Internet at home. Been a year now and I can't seem to get any service from any provider except satellite which I refuse to buy. What's even worse is that I live 1 street away from where they do have service. I've been calling at least once a week to get updates and last I heard it was approved to get service in my area, but no time frame yet. If I ever do get service I'll post speeds, I know how it can be but it's still better than nothing.

I have the 7mbps package and only get .9-2.5mbps after 9:00p.m. I used to have Vista III while going to school at Northeast in Booneville and it was never this unreliable. I have had several techs to come out and check the connection, but all they say is that it looks great during peak hours (7mbps). It's just at night its fail........No WoW or MW2 for me or even checking e-mail at night anymore. I need to talk this up around town and go to the mayor. Now that toyota has committed to the area and Comcast is close by, it would make sense for New Albany to upgrade to a more professional reliable service.

The ping was pretty good as well, only going up to 250ms at night compared to the 1000+ we were experiencing Fall 2009.

I really thought they were going to it all fixed in March, but from March on, it got worse.

My girlfriend, who co-opped at Adtran, in Huntsville, said that Metrocast has been contacting them in order to upgrade more equipment soon.

I've been going off of hope for the past year. I'm glad I'm out of it, and I passed on my flickering torch to my good roommate, who can now pay that bill. I took my router out, so now the modem is connected to our secondary router that's also connected to the Xbox in our living room.
