| Is my upload speed right?
5Mbps dry loop.
Is the upload speed causing many pages to show up as "The page cannot be displayed"
It feels as though I'm on dialup... in terms of pressing a link then waiting... and waiting... then finally having the "Page cannot be displayed."
And that's on sites like news.google.ca, cbc.ca - even submitting this post is having problems.
This doesn't seem right.
Will MLPPP solve this? Or do I have other issues that tech support could help with?
Thanks! Joe |

1 edit | first question: have you tried more than one speedtest server? normally the Toronto server does not produce accurate upload results for me. Hamilton is a good test server. in terms of issues browsing, try manually setting your DNS servers to: 4.2.2.2 4.2.2.1 edit: I also noticed that you ping 280 to the Toronto server. thats a bit high if you are in Ontario |

| reply to JoeKurr Thanks for the reply avin.
I tried Hamilton, and I think these numbers look better.
As per the ping of 280 on the toronto server, is that due to the server? Or is there something I can do to help lower that number? I am in Ontario, just outside Toronto.

| u sure there was nothing running in the background at that time? might have just been another process using up all your upload bandwidth (which may also explain the high ping). or might just be that the toronto server was extremely bogged down. try running it again and see what happens. if its still a high ping i would suggest running a traceroute to see at what hop you have the highest latency, but we don't know what the IP for the speed test server is. |
