 | Windstorm Aftermath So, everybody survived the freak windstorm on Monday? Our Comcast phones & cable TV & internet are still out. (The Verizon card paid for by work has really come in handy...) My Mom in Decatur has 100% utilities and never actually lost power, but almost all of her neighbors were still without power as of 5:00 today. A huge tree was across their road. I think her house is the first house on the next power grid over. It's really kind of weird here with no land-line phone, no TV and no high-speed internet. Very quiet, yet strangely disconcerting. -- My pics: http://www.flickr.com/photos/xpkranger/ |

| We lost power for about 20 minutes at the office. We also had a tree come down. It was a little scary watching out the window the intense wind gusts. --

| I lost cable service monday morning and didn't get it back until around 7PM last night. Besides that nothing else really happened, besides me figuring out how to use my blackberry as a modem! Well that and 2 days of credit from comcast and a new 6 month introductory offer. |

The dozen or so different convoys of Mississippi, Alabama and Pike power trucks going east on I-20 let us know something was up though. Almost all of the truck stops we stopped in for fuel on the way back to Tucson had a station on showing what was going on in Atlanta. After not being in Atlanta for about 9 months now, I wonder if someone was trying to run us off lol. |
