It doesn't matter that other phones on AT&T's network have been Slinging for quite some time now, because AT&T has no control over what those people install on their phones. With the iPhone, it is truly a closed system. Which makes another great case for jailbreaking the iPhone. If the app is not allowed on the app store you can bet it will show up on Cydia/Installer.
