Now when they need to trace an IP for a real crime, the ISP will say sorry we do not have that info since you forced us to deleted all ip info so we did not have to get involved with the filesharing issues.
Right. Because being able to associate an IP address with an individual has been proven bulletproof in their identification of the real criminals. It's also done wonders to stop child pornography. And 411 scams. And counterfeit drugs. And ponzi schemes. And identity theft. And all of the hundreds of other illegal activities done online.
