anon : Can anyone help me to switch from a "new" modem provided by Earthlink back to my trusty Speedstream? I wrongly assumed the new DSL modem would be faster than my old one, but it is S-L-O-W and I cannot figure out how to switch back. I'm running Mac OS10.4.11, have the DSL going into the modem, an ethernet cable going from the modem to a router, another ethernet cable going from the router to a switch, and then two cables to two computers, two other cables to two printers. Old-fashioned, but it works. What I cannot figure out is how to tell my computer to talk to the old modem, not the new one. Probably simple, but I'm stumped and frustrated. Thanks very much.
