What is the NEW DSL Modem that you got from Earthlink?

Did you set it up with your Username and Password? To connect to it, there cannot be a Router between your PC and the DSL Modem.

I'm running Mac OS10.4.11, have the DSL going into the modem, an ethernet cable going from the modem to a router, another ethernet cable going from the router to a switch, and then two cables to two computers, two other cables to two printers. Old-fashioned, but it works. What I cannot figure out is how to tell my computer to talk to the old modem, not the new one. Probably simple, but I'm stumped and frustrated.
